d829075a00 Driver for the Synaptics touchpad on the m:robe 100 based on the 3-wire interface spec. Needs some tweaking as it's too sensitive with the default hardware settings. For now, the vertical strip is divided into up/select/down buttons. Also, redo the keymap (using the Gigabeat as a starting point), but it still needs a good bit of work.

698113d9db Prepare for a new bootloader 7-pre4 release for iriver H100 series. Synced to work properly with SVN, and hopefully fixed remote detection problem and audio thump for some users. Also pure H100/H115 should be supported now. Actual bootloaders will be released separately.

dce2ef805c Small improvements to sliding puzzle. (1) Don't draw the 'Moves' box at fixed size, and display 'Moves:' and number of moves on one line for square and portrait screens. (2) Use 4x4 spots on Archos too, to make the spots look square on the Archos display - change the default 80x64 image accordingly. (3) Replace the 110x110 images with 108x108 so that the width is evenly divisible by 4 (number of spots) as mentioned in the comment. (4) Make the greyscale images look a little less broken, could be even better though. -- The code could be made simpler and more flexible but one step at a time.

f90cbcb652 mpegplayer: Use the core DSP to process audio. Removes the sample rate restriction on audio and any mpeg audio samplerate may be used. Use the global sound settings for audio output with the option to force any one of the processing stages off. All are forced off by default. I didn't personally care to fully duplicate the Sound Settings menu which would have been needed since using the core one would affect settings globally and exactly the same configuration probably isn't desired since the CPU load for video playback is much greater. Rebalance the threading to compensate with some expense to buffering speed.

cdc933f40f Sliding_puzzle: rearrange the default bitmap definitions and add two more sizes of the bitmap (fixes issues on Nano and small H10). The 'Moves' box is still not fully visible on the latter, I plan to work on it but thought the fix was worth an own commit already. Also let the plugin retrieve the image width and height from the bitmap.

ebe5acfb9d Fixed the problems on the new version of the fire plugin (so repush it), added new actions to the pluginlib_actions to fix the keymaps on the Sansa e200 for the clock and fire plugins. Also slightly simplified the metronome plugin's key mapping with those new actions.

dae719dff7 Revert today's fire commits because it crashed all the targets I could test with (OndioFM, M5, C250). The plugin action conversion also caused problems (e.g. in a c200 sim which was working) I couldn't control flame type and movement and couldn't exit.

0c7f2372d5 libmpeg2: Decode only Y on grayscale targets. The chroma skip code is probably less than optimal since it's basically the decoding code with minimum reading of the bitstream but it does the trick for now and gets some more FPS.

fa7eb56c84 Greyscale library: * Defer application of lcd linearisation + gamma in buffered mode to the actual update. This simplifies the update function (grey_update() and grey_update_rect() now are just calls to grey_ub_gray_bitmap_part()), and makes DRMODE_COMPLEMENT work properly. * Make the simulator version work and behave more similar to the target version.

071c2ac339 Reenable metronome on Archos targets which got lost during the big change to it in last summer and fix a warning (wrong data type). The plugin button action system causes problems with the Ondio controls (tapping and playing conflict, even though there are exceptions defined) and it's only halfway usable, probably this applies to the Player as well but couldn't test. It is still better than nothing and e.g. metronome is not completely controllable on c200 too where it is also enabled.

81ba146706 Accept FS#8341 - rename BUTTON_SCROLL_UP/DOWN to FWD/BACK on the e200 to make it consistant with the ipods. apart from removing a bit of confusion, it fixes the wheel in pictureflow and possibly elsewhere.

6a56c14e17 Greyscale library: Changed the internal data format once more (separated pixel values and phases), allowing for further optimisation of drawing, scrolling etc. * Optimised grey phase blitting in the core reduces CPU load on all architectures, most significantly on coldfire. Previous version was too slow to keep up at 45MHz, leading to unwanted graininess (update frequency was halved). Also fixed screendump on 2bpp targets with vertical pixel packing.

3646c31367 Add the viewport functions to the screens API, including a new getfont() function to return the font used by the current viewport. A change to the screens API makes the plugin API incompatible, so we bump version and sort. Also commit the test_viewports plugin (not built by default). This is some more of FS#8385.

dbe24fcbac Doom LCD update: * Speed up the C versions slightly (colour and greyscale). * Fix the ASM version for H300 (caused line flicker, probably since buffered LCD writes were enabled). Slightly slower, but still ~8% faster than plain C. Removed the C version of this ASM because of the same problem (was only there for reference). * Added ASM optimised version for X5 (~8.5% faster).

feb5b15e9b All-new greyscale library, replacing the old one. Features: (1) Drawing/updating is faster than the old grayscale lib at full depth. (2) Always 129 shades instead of 2..33 shades. (3) No graininess caused by frequent updates (mpegplayer, doom, ...). (4) Needs less memory than the old grayscale lib at full depth. * The tradeoff is slightly higher CPU load in the ISR (frames are calculated 'live') and an extra function in the core. * Ported all plugins which used the graylib to use the new one. * Some slight optimisations for archos and H1x0 LCD update.

c898630279 mpegplayer seek tweak: Have video keep the time and duration of the last decoded frame up to date at all times. Make sure streams that have reported and EOS condition are placed back on active list when seeking which it seems is the cause of a video glitch where the initial frame may be presented after a seek but video playback wouldn't restart. Set logical seek time to video start in the parser after after initial load.

a5fc3f4df4 Initial WVS for mpegplayer. Adjusts to the user's preferred font and uses FF/RW preferences set for playback. Picked a random color for the base WVS color but it could be configured. Some engine tweaks to accomodate it since certain nescessities are clearer now. Fix a clipped YUV output bug in the SIM.

2e5f8f5c06 Brickmania for Sansa c200 and the small H10 with new graphics. While at it reduce the number of necessary per screen definition by letting the plugin retrieve the bitmap heights and widths from the file, therefore 'clean up' some graphics e.g. the menu items one, also make some backgrounds a bit nicer. Rearrange bitmaps/native/SOURCES and rename some graphics to reduce the number of duplicated bitmaps which only had a different name e.g. the ball - and tweak the gameover bitmap (on colour displays it uses transparency, and adapt the already existing mono bitmap to be usable). There might be minor differences in the 'looks' for existing ports but almost not noticeable with the exception that the gameover graphic is now centered. Introduce an alternative left and right key for c200 (volume up/down) for easier control. Manual update will follow.

a222f27c4a mpegplayer: Make playback engine fully seekable and frame-accurate and split into logical parts. Be sure to have all current features work. Actual UI for seeking will be added soon. Recommended GOP size is about 15-30 frames depending on target or seeking can be slow with really long GOPs (nature of MPEG video). More refined encoding recommendations for a particular player should be posted soon.

90ce826903 Initial commit of the PictureFlow plugin, a nice visualization for album covers. 
Original code by Ariya Hidayat. Rockbox port by Jonas Hurrelmann and a few tweaks by me.
On the first startup the database is scanned and album art is searched for each album. This process will take some time (dircache enabled and/or database in RAM speed it up, and it is possible to abort by pressing MENU), but the results are cached and the next startups will be very quick.

I shouldn't be coding in whatever my mental state is. But the intent was 
not to remove the use of Select for pausing in Mpegplayer, for those who

ad97b0437f Allow use of either A or Select to pause in mpegplayer. This means you 
can pause it the same way you pause music, but I've not removed the old 
button since mpegplayer currently has plenty of buttons, and not many 
functions.

7f1fbe4af2 MIDI: Increase percision of synthesizer by a factor of 4 - makes certain parts (guitar bends, mostly) 
sound more natural. Also, completely rearrange the order of operations in the delta computation. Had to 
use long longs. Probably not a good idea for speed, but the order can be optimized more later.

cd963d84ca MIDI: Allow seeking forward and backward using the left/right keys. Currently seeks in 5 second 
increments, but this can be set to any amount. Also implemented a counter for playing time, which can 
pretty easily be used to determine the length of the file, in seconds, before playing it. The time 
isn't displayed anywhere right now, but all this can be useful if this thing is turned into a codec, or 
at least gets a nice UI.

c3584c0d63 MIDI: Scale each instrument by a calibration value, since not all patches are at the same base volume. 
This should make some files sound more natural, without some instruments overpowering others. 
Ultimately, these values need to be moved to the config file, and the table should probably be put in 
IRAM or something.

fc43b9df82 Mpegplayer: Assembler optimised IDCT for coldfire, based on FS #5995 by Karim Boucher. Put the IDCT block buffer in IRAM for better performance. The whole libmpeg2 decoder struct doesn't fit without throwing some libmad buffers out of IRAM, but then doesn't change performance significantly. Mpegplayer is quite usable now on X5; H300 is sort-of usable for widescreen.

4bd1aacbc4 Mandelbrot: make increasing/decreasing iterations on X5/M5 actually usable (the buttoncombo was not possible before) and add necessary _PRE definitions to the defines and the button loop to prevent repeating the event accidentally (on some targets there was no control about how many steps one actually zoomed out on one button 'press'). Update the menu accordingly and fill out the blanks...

4c18152654 Jewels: use 'Power' on M5/X5 to exit the plugin as in every other plugin. Mention this in the manual button table too and add the missing information for other targets as well. The table part in the tex file is restructured, a small workaround was necessary to make the Ipod manuals build correctly (is commented). Maybe someone with better tex skills could find a better solution?

a9b2fb5ee3 Finally full multicore support for PortalPlayer 502x targets with an eye towards the possibility of other types. All SVN targets the low-lag code to speed up blocking operations. Most files are modified here simple due to a name change to actually support a real event object and a param change to create_thread. Add some use of new features but just sit on things for a bit and leave full integration for later. Work will continue on to address size on sensitive targets and simplify things if possible. Any PP target having problems with SWP can easily be changed to sw corelocks with one #define change in config.h though only PP5020 has shown an issue and seems to work without any difficulties.

f6de0d4083 Discontinue any use of 'swp(b)' on PP5020. While clocking is stable, some testing revealed this instruction can still cause problems without concurrent access. Make sure mpegplayer is safe while not using spinlock (no longer atomic) between cores to protect the stream byte counters - use nonwrapping head and tail pointers.

ca46a3d095 Increase output buffer size to 32kB, results in less buffer missing in general and avoids buffer misses when lcd remote is plugged in while playing and ticking reduction is enabled. 12ddb8ea0d Enable plugins on the Sansa C200. Large parts taken from patch FS#7749 by Max Kelley with tweaks, bit of cleanup and additional bitmaps by me. Some of the now enabled plugins could still be improved in regard to screen size adaptation or keymaps but this way it can easily be done later and one by one. The rather ugly 'ifndef's I added temporaryly in plugins/SOURCES will also go one by one. Plugin button actions cause some quirks in a few plugins (e.g. 'clock') but since it's not critical , the bitmaps were already done and it makes a good example for discussing plugin button actions, I thought it could go in.

f64ebb1c1f Sim I/O and threading that runs more like on target. Tweakable if any genuine slowness imitation is required for any one of them. One point of concern is the sim shutdown on an OS other than Linux just because terminating threads in a manner other than having the do it themselves is kind of dirty IMHO.

When displaying the properties of a file, attempt to get metadata from it and
on success, display the artist, title and album strings.

6a92e475ac Make get_metadata act on a struct mp3entry rather than a struct track_info. 
This should make it easy to use a buffer handle to put the ID3 data in.
The changes in get_metadata are mostly search and replace. The only thing
it actually used to do on the struct track_info was set taginfo_ready to
true.

a5d4d67763 Also keep the backlight on in mpegplayer when plugged in. Fixes FS #7584. Created two helper functions for this, because this issue also exists in other plugins (to do). The helper functions are in the pluginlib in helper.[ch], where other common stuff can be put.

7fe32b9a27 Only show plugins which are actually associated with the file from the "open with" menu. (plugins registered with * in the viewers.config are always shown) 
Shows everything if the file doesnt have a extension.
Also fix the plugin name showing the whole path instead of just the name.

Previous commit should have said "Delete your current /.rockbox/rocks folder because the plugins' config/extra files have moved and to save you hassles"

ffbbc60f38 Mpegplayer: Clear up some other cache issues. Use the better sleep loops for message sending. I still won't promise 100% trouble-free operation on dual-core since adding a thread to the COP from the CPU is a race condition anyway.

e1147b87ab RTC (real time clock) support for Rockboy. The time in games like Pokemon Gold/Silver should now stay synced on RTC-capable targets. Other targets will lose track of time when the player is turned off. User's can edit the .rtc file in an attempt to resync the RTC. The clock should stay synced when entering and leaving the menu. I've tested this over the past two weeks and it seems to work well.
