4c43f7be0a Rearrange the main synth loop a little and move some tests around for a ~5% speedup on c200, increase the output buffer size to make skips less likely, playback of simple midi files should now be mostly skip free on pp based players

4c3a19f1b4 Fix test_codec precision. The old version effectively rounded the decode time up to full seconds (because of the rb->sleep(HZ)), so speed results from before this revision were more or less too low and 'stepped', especially for fast codecs and short test tracks.

baf4b6102d Change the test_sampr plugin around to use a constant pitch + white noise which makes it more informative about the hardware state. Add a volume control for targets without a separate one.

5e4a6824bb $* doesn't work if the target doesn't use a wildcard. Furthermore the GNU make manual discourages its use. Using works, and automatically ensures the correct directory. zxbox.map and chessbox.map were put into the wrong dir (build dir) and overwrote each other.

1284c127f8 Introduce likely() and unlikely() macros, use to give gcc hints about which branch is likely to be taken in a conditional, use them in the midi player for a small speedup, use instead of similar EXPECT macros in tremor and use in mpegplayer

c6b3d38a15 New makefile solution: A single invocation of 'make' to build the entire tree. Fully controlled dependencies give faster and more correct recompiles. 
Many #include lines adjusted to conform to the new standards.

bd08aeed53 Video plugin: Fix OSD for font_height != 8. Don't fiddle with the framebuffer directly, but use the standard lcd drawing functions and lcd_update_rect() (in the ISR as required). OSD now displays for 1 second (0.5 seconds for buffer debug).

ac488f8cb7 Makefile overhaul. All generated bitmaps are now explicitly in OBJDIR/bitmaps and OBJDIR/pluginbitmaps, and plugins properly depend on their respective bitmap files. Fixes #6847.

2f8a0081c6 Apply FS#9500. This adds a storage_*() abstraction to replace ata_*(). To do that, it also introduces sd_*, nand_*, and mmc_*. 
This should be a good first step to allow multi-driver targets, like the Elio (ATA/SD), or the D2 (NAND/SD).

ee593c95e2 Make lcd_set_enable_hook() conditional on HAVE_LCD_ENABLE and HAVE_LCD_COLOR 
This prepares for the Clip which will define HAVE_LCD_ENABLE but won't
need the hook since the internal LCD framebuffer is updated regardless
if the display is on or off.

firmware/drivers/lcd-16bit.c has not been modified since HAVE_LCD_COLOR
is obviously defined here

68f3ad3454 state->savedboard doesn't exist, so revert that part of r18906 for now. It might be necessary to redo this fix properly. Also, state->currentboard is an array of shorts, so the memcpy() only covered half of it.

9e2807fc66 Add a simple plugin (apps/settings_dumper.rock) which dumps the valid values of all the config settings to /settings_dumper.txt. If you notice any settings its not dumping please let me know.

76596deaf1 Move the monolithic jpeg viewer into its own subdirectory and split it into three (for now - maybe it should be split further) files - jpeg.c (the main plugin/viewer parts), jpeg_decoder.c (the actual decoder) and. for colour targets only, yuv2rgb.c. The intention of this commit is as a first step towards abstracting this viewer into a reusable jpeg decoder and a multi-format image viewer.
