3511d94031 Add register bit defines for as3514 and clean stuff up. Reduce poppiness at startup and shutdown (and even powerup for e200). Really, I can't honestly say it will help anything but an e200v1 but I'm sick of the noises. ;)

2f8a0081c6 Apply FS#9500. This adds a storage_*() abstraction to replace ata_*(). To do that, it also introduces sd_*, nand_*, and mmc_*.
This should be a good first step to allow multi-driver targets, like the Elio (ATA/SD), or the D2 (NAND/SD).

36e311f68b Implement chasing bitswap for reading. Speeds up reading single 512-byte blocks by 15..20%. * Restructure the write buffer handling a bit, making it more readable and a bit smaller. Also fixes an old corner case bug: writing data from address 0x0 (archos boot ROM dump) would have written wrong data.

b1a584a1b6 Simplify & fix the MMC driver. After more than 3 years I found that the MMC specs were a bit misleading, and the 'large' MMC which state a block size of 1024 or 2048 bytes and no partial read and/or partial write capability are happily accepting a block size of 512 bytes. So go KISS and remove all the variable/partial block handling code. This fixes the driver for the Transcend 4GB MMCplus, which doesn't cope when we actually set the 2048 byte block size it states. It also makes write operations involving small blocks faster and more reliable. * Note: The 4GB Transcend still doesn't work when plugged at boot, but works when hotplugged.

bdbdb97f19 FS#9051 - remove LCD margins... use viewports if you need them...
NOTE to WPS people....
%m has been removed, but (i think) because of the other %m tags it wont fail if you try loading a wps with %m|..|, it will just be ignored.
Also note that if the statusbar is enabled the default viewport is 8 pixels shorter than when its not, i.e (0,0) is really (0,8) if the statusbar is shown... I dont think this will be a major issue because almost no WPS show the bar and use bitmaps... text only WPS shouldnt be affected.

Please report problem screens in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17358.0

1) Rework event handling and static registration mechanism. No target-
specific code in mc13783 driver. GPIO event driver interfaces more
     cleanly.

  2) Somewhat related - enable thread priority for bootloader which is
desireable here (ffs is used for GPIO event enabling anyway and that
     goes along with priority).

Plus various tcc77x work, including a working tick interrupt (enabled in the bootloader). Rockbox itself builds for the M200 (there are no keymaps yet for the DAX), but doesn't progress very far due to the lack of an ATA (NAND flash) driver.

05099149f1 Enable nocache sections using the linker. PP5022/4 must use SW_CORELOCK now with shared variables in DRAM (it seems swp(b) is at least partially broken on all PP or I'm doing something very wrong here :\). For core-shared data use SHAREDBSS/DATA_ATTR. NOCACHEBSS/DATA_ATTR is available whether or not single core is forced for static peripheral-DMA buffer allocation without use of the UNCACHED_ADDR macro in code and is likely useful on a non-PP target with a data cache (although not actually enabled in config.h and the .lds's in this commit).

27cf677339 Add a complete priority inheritance implementation to the scheduler (all mutex ownership and queue_send calls are inheritable). Priorities are differential so that dispatch depends on the runnable range of priorities. Codec priority can therefore be raised in small steps (pcmbuf updated to enable). Simplify the kernel functions to ease implementation and use the same kernel.c for both sim and target (I'm tired of maintaining two ;_). 1) Not sure if a minor audio break at first buffering issue will exist on large-sector disks (the main mutex speed issue was genuinely resolved earlier). At this point it's best dealt with at the buffering level. It seems a larger filechunk could be used again. 2) Perhaps 64-bit sims will have some minor issues (finicky) but a backroll of the code of concern there is a 5-minute job. All kernel objects become incompatible so a full rebuild and update is needed.

054447f9e6 Commit FS#8379 by Andree Buschmann. Disables much of the remaining unneeded hardware on PP50xx targets (Ipods, Sansa, H10s, etc) resulting in a large savings in power and consequent increase in battery life. Results vary from target to target and from codec to codec, but we now approach the OF runtime on several PP devices. For now, leave base CPU clock at 30MHz, although further savings is possible with some codecs if clock is reduced. Additionally, fix battery capacity on c200 and use my measurements to improve runtime estimation for Sandisk targets.

1d1a17c0db Improved H10 ADC driver. We now do things exactly as the OF does. This includes shifting the readings by 0x14 when PLL is enabled. Battery voltages and remote/scrollpad values adjusted accordingly. a9b2fb5ee3 Finally full multicore support for PortalPlayer 502x targets with an eye towards the possibility of other types. All SVN targets the low-lag code to speed up blocking operations. Most files are modified here simple due to a name change to actually support a real event object and a param change to create_thread. Add some use of new features but just sit on things for a bit and leave full integration for later. Work will continue on to address size on sensitive targets and simplify things if possible. Any PP target having problems with SWP can easily be changed to sw corelocks with one #define change in config.h though only PP5020 has shown an issue and seems to work without any difficulties.

f3b015f73b FS#7808 by Tom Ross, Ken Fazzone and me, with help from Antoine Cellerier.
Add two new line selector types: solid colour and gradient. Solid colour only uses the primary colour setting.
The secondary colour setting is used for the gradient. Text colour for the selected item is also changeable.
These new settings are a bit controversial so they may be removed later.

070417d152 Forget all the nonsense with C delay loops. 'volatile' on the variable makes bloated code and a volatile, blank asm block inside may or may not be optimized out. Maybe this is straightened out now.

e22b33ec72 Gigabeat LCD driver cleanup: Revert the DMA optimisations to the gigabeat LCD driver - they are both buggy (the wrong background colour was often seen, e.g. in the USB screen after using a plugin) and significantly slower than the standard implementations (which use the ARM-optimised mem* functions) in lcd-16bit.c. lcd_clear_update was 4.5 times slower with DMA when a backdrop is in use, and 12 times slower with DMA when no backdrop is in use.

6c8772d6db x5/M5: Finally get rid of filter selection aberrations when switching to 88.2kHz sampling rate which affected both the DAC and ADC. Turning off the DAC and ADC before changing the internal codec frequency seems to cure the remaining glitch of the filters not being correctly selected by the TLV320.
