1fefb48e87 Fix System/Running Time to reset the running time whenever a charger or USB cable is inserted, not just when the cable is inserted in the running time screen. Should now make the running time actually be the amount of time rockbox has run since the battery was last charged, which is as far as I can tell the original idea behind the runtime menu.

93f9e7cbfb fix text scrolling handling in do_menu, set_time_screen and time_screen. 
Don't scroll text in time_screen(). the lines will be redrawn before scrolling statrs, so they don't scroll anyway.

b2eb44ce0e FS#10824 - viewport/statusbar API rework. 
Hopefully the only user visible changes are:
- fm and recording screens go by the statusbar setting (sbs or inbuilt)
- plugins go back to using the theme as they should for menus and lists
- splash screens might get cut a bit... entirely theme and splash dependant.. if there is a problematic one we can look at it later.
- hopefully nothing more than very minor screen flickerings... let me know exactly where they are so they can be fixed

New GUI screen rules:
* Screens assume that the theme (sbs+ui viewport+ maybe background image) are always enabled. They may be disabled on a per display basis, but MUST be re-enabled on exit
* Screens must not be coded in a way that requires a statusbar of any type.. the inbuilt bar will be removed shortly.
ALWAYS RESPECT THE USERS SETTINGS unless the screen requires the full display to fit.

0bd45b3622 Remove square brackets from the ID3 Viewer related language strings and generate them at runtime. This makes these lang strings actually usable for WPSes using the %Sx tag.

4f3d7b5bcb USB HID: Use different context for each mode; Use constant for each action; 
Rework keymaps

This commit makes the code neater and more readable. It makes it easier to
modify keymap assignments and new keypad modes.
Some platforms had their keypad mappings reworked.
The manual is updated to reflect all these changes.
H10 remote control mapping dropped.

1a28d40335 Fix up statusbar handling in the usb screen a bit more, using the GUI_EVENT_ACTIONUPDATE event instead of direct draw (with the custom statusbar patch in my mind), actually fix statusbar updates for the simulator version of the usb screen. Increase timeouts a bit too.

cc1be6b766 More fixes for the usb screen: Use send_event(GUI_EVENT_REFRESH, NULL) to get rid of dead parts if the custom ui viewport is used as intended (it also redraws the statusbars additionally to clear&update). Redo the the statusbar handling to use the viewportmanager to properly force the remote statusbar on also.

Adds a USB HID sample application, a plugin tha allows to send HID commands while connected in non-storage mode.
This also removes the HID stuff in the debug menu. Testing is now easily doable from the plugin

1d6df54df2 Convert a number of places in core and plugins to use the BIT_N() macro instead of 1<<n. Speeds up things on SH1, and also reduces core binsize. Most notable speedups: 1 bit lcd driver: drawpixel +20%, drawline + 27%, hline +5%; jpeg viewer: +8% for 1/8 scaling. Other targets are unaffected.

a435c407ac Don't allow disconnecting from the usb screen, as this doesn't work properly on some OSes (e.g. windows "releases" the device whenever it's not actively reading or writing, which doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to disconnect at that point)

1a09bf2f9b Make the USB disconnect feature dependent on HAVE_USB_POWER. This may not 
be that useful, but (a) it fixes compile errors on ZVM, and (b) if you don't
have USB power, why leave the device plugged in anyway? (a.k.a. fix red)

871db6f5d9 Allow the user to leave MSC mode by pressing the USB POWER button (the one that's used to go to usb power mode on plugin) when the host OS hasn't locked the device. 
This only works for devices that expose a removable device, so for now the gigabeat S is out of luck.
(slightly modified from FS#9993)

e385ee18ce Decouple the statusbar drawing from the rest of the screen drawing. it is not drawn roughly 4x per second automatically. 
viewport_Set_defaults() will setup the given viewport with the correct "full screen" dimensions (so start at 0,0 if statusbars are disabled or 0,8 if they are enabled.)
All screens should keep the statusbar enabled, but if you really want to ignore the user setting you can disbaled it with viewportmanager_set_statusbar(false).

This commit also includes some menu/list viewport cleanups from kugel in FS#9603

3157e13956 Simplify powermgmt thread loops so it calls functions turn (no more power_thread_sleep). Do other target-friendly simplifications, generic battery switch handling and split sim-specific code. Whoever can, please verify charging on the Archos Recorder (due to change in the charger duty cycle code).

58eb784a5d Straighten out some powermanagement stuff. Give target complete control over how power inputs are sensed. Clean SIMULATOR stuff out of target files. Get rid of USB charging option on targets that don't support it or don't implement it yet. Menu string remains to avoid language incompatibility but should be removed on next cleanup for targets not using it (notice in english.lang). global_settings becomes incompatible for some builds and so plugin API version is incremented.

ac488f8cb7 Makefile overhaul. All generated bitmaps are now explicitly in OBJDIR/bitmaps and OBJDIR/pluginbitmaps, and plugins properly depend on their respective bitmap files. Fixes #6847.

01729e7a18 FS#9281 Rename of splash functions. 
* Remove gui_splash()
* Rename gui_syncsplash() to splashf() and remove its voice 
capabilities.
* Rename the internal splash() to splash_internal() and introduce an 
externally visible splash() that handles simple splashing  without 
printf functionality e.g. splash(HZ, ID2P(LANG_FOO)); or splash(HZ, 
"foo"); if a LANG_* id is passed it will be voiced.
* Adjust all places that called gui_syncsplash() to use the correct 
variant from above.
* Export both new functions to plugins and adjust places calling 
rb->splash() to use the correct variant so that we now have naming 
consistency between the core and plugins.
* Fix one latent bug that would cause my sim to crash with the above 
changes and correct P2STR and P2ID macros, thanks to pondlife.

nothing should be using screens[].nb_lines anymore... change the list code to be a good example. (playlist_viewer is the last thing using it which needs fixing)

also change the order the yes/no screen clears the viewport.. stop_scroll should be called before clear or you might get artifacts

ea664e0647 Viewported quickscreen (take 2 :D) (FS#8553)

5ca1539969 the menu and list now accepts a parent viewport to draw in (and the menu can be told to not show status/button bars). This lays the groundwork to fix colour problems with plugin menus (see star.c for an example.) This hopefully fixes some button bar issues as well as theme problems.

2c82494e66 updated the quickscreen's: 
- use viewports
- dont change to system font, fiddle with item positions to make them fit small screens
- user customizable options (use the .cfg settings "quickscreen_left, quickscreen_right, quickscreen_top, quickscreen_bottom" for the name and the .cfg name for the setting you want to use. it can be any except the string settings... (e.g. quickscreen_left:talk menu)
- a top item! if there is none set the up button will exit the screen

a9b2fb5ee3 Finally full multicore support for PortalPlayer 502x targets with an eye towards the possibility of other types. All SVN targets the low-lag code to speed up blocking operations. Most files are modified here simple due to a name change to actually support a real event object and a param change to create_thread. Add some use of new features but just sit on things for a bit and leave full integration for later. Work will continue on to address size on sensitive targets and simplify things if possible. Any PP target having problems with SWP can easily be changed to sw corelocks with one #define change in config.h though only PP5020 has shown an issue and seems to work without any difficulties.
