a4e06d39c9 Bounce demo: * Fixed title splash, this was broken for ages. * Fixed both boucing/ scrolling text and background clock (RTC targets only) to properly work for all resolutions, using the new fixedpoint math library. * Coloured scrolltext no longer changes the colour of the background clock. * Some more slight fixes, and preparations for resolution dependent font bitmap.

eca9f7fd60 Place all recording functionality on pcmrec thread to serialize all recording operations. Button mash problems should be ruled out of pcm_record.c. Add additional lightweight checks by default and display any warnings that occurred during recording in first line of recording screen when they occur by blinking back and forth from warning display to normal line (Warning: <hex bitmask>). Warnings are cleared when beginning a new recording so write the number down if you see it and file a report. Add heavier checks when PCMREC_PARANOID is defined in the player config header (encoders and pcm_record must be aware of the define since it changes the chunk header format). These checks are mainly concerned with things that may cause skipping but also add unwanted overhead for normal operation. Best used with logf enabled.

0d768a37f9 SWCODEC Recording: 1) Fix minor bug of not subtracting line aligment adjustment from buffer size. 2) Handle stop and pause better and let pcmrec thread lock the DMA as that could cause prerecording to get disabled internally 3) Make sure to snapshot DMA write index to ensure compiler doesn't perform multiple access when calculating available data (probably just paranoia on my part) 4) Handle USB connect in recording thread a little better by resetting hardware to defaults after closing 5) Make power managment stop recording properly when powering off (ie. no yield() from interrupt handler! :)

3e24665c41 Fix settings not saving to disk correctly, (fixes FS#6408) 
Stop playback.c requesting a rebuffer while not playing
Shutting down from inside the menu will now save settings to disk, and
entering the main menu will not force a setting save unless a setting
actually changes

51189b4cb4 Small change to PCM recording API for low latency effects. Latency can be as low as 14 samples from input to output including the FIFOs (ColdFire) but 16 is more reasonable an expectation if only tranferring one sample per interrupt (\!). May convert PCM playback to use the same method as it can still be used in the old manner with some slight mods but has the potential to enable new features since it is more flexible.

80da8b141c FS#6357, patch 1: let iramcopy and bss share the same space in codecs and 
plugins. Currently, in case of plugins using IRAM bss is cleared twice,
once in the loader, once in PLUGIN_IRAM_INIT. For codecs, bss is cleared only
during codec initialization. Also, removed double variables in codecs
storing a pointer to codec_api.

bbef13eddf SWCODEC: Stop clicks between tracks when resampler is active by only switching the DSP frequency and not resetting the resampler at track boundaries. Will make sure DSP is correctly flushed at dicontinuities but don't hear any problems currently.

4049d44b03 dont allow the ata callbacks to be run less than once every 30s unless 
explicitly forced to.
The sleep_after param is only true in the Q_SLEEP event, so its uneeded,
so removed

cee9d3b47b Fixed header parsing in AIFF. The minimum header size is 54 bytes for an audio file. SSND chunk block_size and offset are 32-bit values, not 16-bit; this bug would probably never even matter since most sound data isn't block aligned.

17507b979d Fixed bug in dither_init that was causing the AIFF playback at sample rates other than 44.1kHz to not procede. It created a dependency of setting sample depth before frequency and aiff.codec does it the other way.

0729b928ce Recording: Add AIFF recording to SWCODEC. Note: AIFF playback chokes on sample rates other than 44.1kHz whether recorded or created and saved with an external program. Recorded files will still open in an external editor however.

adc4848772 Complete rework of the BMP loader: * Support for 4 bit, 15/16 bit and 32 bit BMPs in addition to the already supported 1 bit, 8 bit and 24 bit formats. * Better protection against corrupt BMP files. * Added dithering for 2 bit targets. * Optimised, compact code. There's almost no code size increase for SH1 (only 68 bytes), and even a decrease for coldfire, with all the additional features. * Code policed. * Fixes bug that loading a backdrop worked only once per session.

acc29d95be SWCODEC/IRAM: Save voice IRAM when a plugin initializes its IRAM. Defines two macros for declaring and initializing IRAM. Plugins should use these instead. See mp3_encoder, doom, etc. for details. Further tweaks in buffer restoration after other use. Hiding of some interfaces that should only be used by buffer management.

bf65676226 Removed muting from pcm buffer during starts, stops and pauses for tlv320 and uda1380. Far less in the way of pops now. Voice during FM radio playback keeps radio steady. If it is determined that other audio codecs don't benefit from this remove the muting code and defines altogether. Saving the state and not resetting more than needed seems to prevent popping more effectively than muting at DMA starts and stops. Voice can click a little if truncating a clip (not annoyingly though) but that should be handled by a DSP fade out over a few ms instead-- a side benefit would be a general DSP fade rather than using volume control.

1) block_thread -> block_thread + block_thread_w_tmo -- this call was always used in distinct ways so having one call with a conditional was ugly.
2) enhance Slasheri's scheduler controlled boost concept.  now any thread may trigger a boost which will last until that thread next sleeps.

8d2711b7d2 Improved power management (FS#3001). Shutdown rockbox when the battery gets to a level where the device doesn't function properly. Calculate remaining charging time while charging (rather than remaining running time). Show "Low Battery" and "Battery Empty" warnings. Also fixes FS#4786.

and shutdown and usb (it makes sense here). ata_sleep doesnt get broken
by callbacks.

0f5cb94aa4 Big Patch adds primarily: Samplerate and format selection to recording for SWCODEC. Supprort for samplerates changing in playback (just goes with the recording part inseparably). Samplerates to all encoders. Encoders can be configured individually on a menu specific to the encoder in the recording menu. File creation is delayed until flush time to reduce spinups when splitting. Misc: statusbar icons for numbers are individual digits to display any number. Audio buffer was rearranged to maximize memory available to recording and properly reinitialized when trashed. ColdFire PCM stuff moved to target tree to avoid a complicated mess when adding samplerate switching. Some needed API changes and to neaten up growing gap between hardware and software codecs.

0b22795e26 adds ata_idle_notify system which allows callbacks in apps/ to be called 
when the hard disk is idle but spinning, and just before shutting down.
on SWCODEC targets with > 8MB RAM the playback engine will try to
refill the buffer if it is less than 75% full while the disk is spinning
(temporarily disabled on the nano)

9a56fdf5b2 JPEG viewer: Removed the playback control menu on archos. It made no sense as the JPEG viewer always needs to use the main buffer on archos, and it could cause strange effects.

32c69452d6 Grayscale lib: Using a 32x32->32 bit multiplication is better on ARM, as 16x16->32 bit isn't a single instruction. Renamed the macro for pointing out that it's not necessarily 16 bit anymore, and to avoid collisions with similar macros in plugins.

39fe51e88d Improve accuracy a little when seeking and resuming MP3 files. Mainly noticable for low-bitrate files with large ID3V2 tags, and no effect if no ID3V2 tag. Should be ported to hwcodec targets. :)

9e8fe0e4c6 General: changed local adc to voltage conversions in several places to use battery_voltage. Added battery_read_info function for unfiltered battery information. x5: removed adc_read as a distinct function. Removed adc tick task. adc_init is empty inline. Adjusted battery scale, voltage to level array and read 10 bits from the ADC for battery since 255 levels is not enough for true centivolt resolution.

7b2d26a7fa Since this file is both the master for the language system, as well as the 
source for generating english strings, make sure that all <source> strings are
*identical* to the <dest> strings within the english.lang file. The <source>
strings are the ones that'll be exposed and used by other languages when doing
updates etc, while the <dest> ones are used when this file is used to simply
get the full set of english strings for a particular target.

1d4a9c6366 Stop reading buttons if one is not down. Don't read remote keys if not plugged. Good for another few points of boost and 4fps full-screen unboosted. The button scan enabling seems stable and I've been using it without any difficulties but if the interrupts hiccup it could leave them unresponsive. Clearing the GPI0 interrupts before enabling them seems to prevent any difficulties. If there's problems there I'll just leave the remote reading bypass only and 50% of the benefits will still be realized.
