52f17dfe9d Submit FS#11445. Speed up of faad (aac) decoder via several optimizations like refactoring some requantization routines, moving several arrays and code tables to IRAM, using an optimized swap32() function and inlining several huffman decoder functions. Decoding is sped up by ~10% (PP5002, PP5022, MCF5249) and ~22% (MCF5250).

01f91ed14d Factor out sane code list bisection code and use instead of insane code, clean up some tests for readability's sake. Gives a small speedup on h300 (coldfire, 0.1-0.6MHz) and a tiny speedup on gigabeat s (armv6 0.1-0.2MHz), no real difference on PP.

cf73340f1e Enable game sounds in PacBox. Sound is OFF by default but can be enabled from the menu. Enable a function for SWCODEC in the middle of the plugin API, so plugins must be made incompatible (full update).

b15a523870 e200v1/c200v1: Implement limited samplerate switching. Rates 24kHz and below are being a bear as far as minor crackling at higher amplitude-- leave them out for the time being since no solution is currently evident. 48, 44, 32 (rec rates 24, 22, 16) seem perfectly fine. I'm betting c200 is ok to include because it uses the same setup as e200.

ac622c6d67 text viewer: reworks screen access logics and some bugs fix. 
- screen access logics separte from tv_window. (new tv_display.[ch])
- using multi screen api.
- (bug fix) the head of the each line is not normally displayed when the alignment is RIGHT.
- (bug fix) unnecessary blank line is not displayed. (a part of FS#11400).
- (bug fix) the order by which callback functions were called was not correct. (FIFO->FILO)

59fd2b24bd FS#11399 by me: fix r26998 for text_viewer 
Restore the old behaviour:

- preferences must be read-write for tv_preferences.c , read-only for
  all other modules -> use pointer to const struct
- init functions must get the plugin buffer + its size as arguments for
  easily adding new functions -> use pointer to buffer pointer and size
  to make allocation easier
- preferences meaning is private to each file and must not be known by
  tv_preferences.c -> move tv_check_header_and_footer() back in
  tv_window.c; also avoid chaining 3 times the callbacks by calling
  tv_set_preferences() only once if more than one preference needs
  changing

2494afccc4 playback.c: don't assume cacheline size is 16 bytes 
ideally all targets should define CACHEALIGN_BITS, for now we default it
to 16 bytes if it's not specified

Since the buffer is already aligned in playback.c no need to align it
again in buffering.c

5c50021b90 test_codec: allocate wavbuffer/dspbuffer dynamically 
It'll build on targets with small plugin buffer, the buffer for each of
them will be a little smaller than 32kB. "should be enough"

35e8b1429a Rockbox as an application: Replace many occurences of #ifdef SIMULATOR with #if (CONFIG_PLATFORM & PLATFORM_HOSTED) (or equivalently). 
The simulator defines PLATFORM_HOSTED, as RaaA will do (RaaA will not define SIMULATOR).
The new define is to (de-)select code to compile on hosted platforms generally.

Should be no functional change to targets or the simulator.

3c78cb35e8 Remove plugin-specific defines from the pdbox makefile, and add them to m_pd.h, which is the global pdbox header. This makes sure that the defines are set during depency generation so dependencies are correct.

49dac9ae04 Make the title area go up one level in the lists again. This Doesnt work if you have the title in a seperate viewport in the sbs, but that isnt really a problem because if you are doing that there is a good chance you will setup a region for that press anyway

816fca820c Wrote apps/codecs/wmapro.c and modified libwmapro to make the codec work in the sim. Neither libwmapro nor wmapro.c have been added to the main build yet, codecs.make should be edited to compile both with rockbox. 
current status of the decoder :
- Plays and seeks in the sim
- Still in floating point

a398c2846a Touchregion support for the Base Skin and FM Skins. display obviously needs to be in stylus mode for this to work. Just about all screens should be mostly useable if your sbs has the next/prev/select/cancel/menu regions defined. 
Plenty of room to add new action abilities if they are wanted.

cleanup:
    - don't use enum in struct / return values
    - don't use a getter for preferences but a global pointer
    - explicitely make enums start at 0
    - use static tables for header/footer settings
    - remove unneeded memset before strlcpy
    - use static buffer allocation, not dynamic
    - check header/footer preferences before using the callbacks
    - don't include font filename in archos player preferences (break
      file format)

bugfix:
    - statically allocate old preferences in tv_set_preferences()

Sometimes I can read a file on Clipv2, but it still aborts quite often

45c7498f59 FS#11335 by me: make ARM assembly functions thumb-friendly 
We can't pop into pc on ARMv4t when using thumb: the T bit won't be
modified if we are returning to a thumb function
Code running on ARMv4t should use the new ldrpc / ldmpc macros instead
of ldr pc, [sp], #4 and ldm(cond) sp!, {regs, pc}
No modification on pure ARM builds and ARMv5+

Note: USE_THUMB is currently never defined, no targets can currently be
built with -mthumb, see FS#6734

00e01e82cb Submit FS#11365. Speed up mp3 decoding on ARM processors. It is faster to use the C-implementation of dct32 compiled with -O1 as the asm implementation of dct32 compiled with -O2. Configuration for Coldfire processors is untouched. In the new configuration the stack of the COP decoding thread needs to be increased on dualcore targets. Speed is increasing by up to 0.9 MHz (-O2 against -O1 using eabi).

NEW PARSER: add an 'N' param type which will accept any number of strings, will cause very big problems if this isnt the last param for a tag.

e02ceefdbc Submit FS#11381. Use -O2 for ffmpegFLAC on ARM targets. This will give reasonable speed-up (+3% on PP502x) for svn and major speed-up when switching to eabi tool chain (+9% on PP502x). Coldfire was tested to be faster when keeping -O1.

* don't load font if it's not needed.

fe72cbe6ac Fix FS#11370 - BEWARE when useing viewport colours. 
%Vf() and %Vb() need to be straight after the %V() or else the colours wont be set on the viewport (but on the line instead). This means scrolling lines dont work.

To make sure the colours are used for the whole viewport dont leave any gaps between %V and %Vf/%Vb. (of course, if you want a single line to be a different colour then use the %Vf as normal.

%Cl(x, y, width, height [,xalign flag] [, yalign flag])
xalign can be l,c,r (or - to keep default)
yalign can be t,c,b

xalign must be there if you want to use a yalign flag

5b0521c9aa Changeover to the new skin format. SkinBreakingChange in the wiki has the runown of the changes. 
Major changes are paramerterised tags now use %tag(param,param), colours are removed from the %V() tag, %Vi gets a required (but can be -) label as its first param).

utils/skinupdater/ has a program to update individual skins, and a perl script to update a whole zip.
Themesite will be unusable for the time being (you should be able to upload new themes once it updates checkwps though).

I obviously havnt tested every updated wps in this change so let me know if one doesnt load

b8d98fcc19 Change cuesheet handling so the id3 info is not spoofed anymore. If something wants the subtracks info it is easy to get to. This makes next track display in the skins show the next subtrack if we are in a cuesheet

055f4c3b63 New USB charging system, part 3 (end of rework) - Default to usb charging on 
It should now be safe to default the USB charging setting to "on" on targets which support it at all - it will only charge when connected to a host which has acknowleged its requirement for 500mA of power.

991e92fd3d New USB charging system, part 1 - API rework and user-visible setting update 
1) "Charge during USB connection" option is now tristate: off/on/force. Currently "force" behaves just like "on", but in future it will allow charging even when it was not possible to positively identify a charger.

2) The H300 code has been adjusted to use the new system but there should be no functional differences, it already had the USB charging option and its USB/charging support is hardware controlled.

3) The Gigabeat S code has been adjusted to use the new system: the player now has the USB charging option, which wasn't previously available. The player will only charge at full speed when allowed to do so by a working USB host, so USB AC adapters won't work very well; however, they didn't work before either, so this is not a change in functionality.

4) The iPod Nano 2G code has been adjusted to use the new system: it already had the USB charging option. Using a USB AC adapter won't charge at full speed any more (it did before) - the old implementation was equivalent to the not-yet-implemented "force" option in the new system.

No other target should be affected. Support for the "force" mode and support for at least some other iPod models will come in a future commit :)
