470989bd70 events: Rework event subsystem (add_event, send_event) to be more versatile.
add_event_ex is added that takes an extra user_data pointer. This pointer is
passed to the callback (add_event and add_event_ex have slightly different
callbacks types). All callbacks also get the event id passed. Events added
with add_event_ex must be removed with remove_event_ex because the user_data
pointer must match in addition to the callback pointer.

On the other add_event is simplified to omit the oneshort parameter which
was almost always false (still there with add_event_ex).

As a side effect the ata_idle_notify callbacks are changed as well, they
do not take a data parameter anymore which was always NULL anyway.

This commit also adds some documentation to events.h

31b7122867 Implement time-based resume and playback start.
This complements offset-based resume and playback start funcionality.
The implementation is global on both HWCODEC and SWCODEC.

Basically, if either the specified elapsed or offset are non-zero,
it indicates a mid-track resume.

To resume by time only, set elapsed to nonzero and offset to zero.
To resume by offset only, set offset to nonzero and elapsed to zero.

Which one the codec uses and which has priority is up to the codec;
however, using an elapsed time covers more cases:

* Codecs not able to use an offset such as VGM or other atomic
formats

* Starting playback at a nonzero elapsed time from a source that
contains no offset, such as a cuesheet

The change re-versions pretty much everything from tagcache to nvram.

7ab237b025 buflib: Add crc field protecting buflib cookie integrity
This should catch the case of buffer misuse which results
in corrupted cookie of next allocation. The check is performed
on move_block() so it may be a bit late.

There is buflib_check_valid() provided which checks the
integrity of all cookies for given context.
On DEBUG build with --sdl-thread this check is carried out
for core_ctx on every context switch to catch problems earlier.

488a1b983e put_line/scrolling: Make the scroll engine inform custom scrollers about start/stop of scrolling.
With the new lcd_putsxy_scroll_func() code can register custom scroll functions
(put_line() makes use of that). In order for the custom scroller to be able
to properly manage its userdata pointer (set via struct scrollinfo::userdata)
the scroll engine must inform the scroller about start and stop of scrolling.

To inform about start the lcd_scroll_* functions now return true when
the line will scroll. To inform about stop the scroll engine calls into the
scroller one last time, with the text set to NULL.

put_line() can use this to release the userdata registered per scrolling line
so that it can be recycled.

This fixes that some scrolling lines became glitchy after some time because
the userdata was recycled too early.

5d6974641b Introduce put_line().
This function is a fully-fletched, high-level pixel-based line printer, that
combines functionality of several firmware and list functions. It can
draw spacing, icons and text in a single call, in any order and each multiple
times. It can also apply line decorations at the same time.

It features printf-like semantics by accepting a format string that contain
format tags as well as inline text.

It's accessible directly, but also through the multi-screen api for plugins.

22e802e800 playback,talk: Share audiobuffer via core_alloc_maximum().
This fixes the radioart crash that was the result of buffering.c working
on a freed buffer at the same time as buflib (radioart uses buffering.c for the
images). With this change the buffer is owned by buflib exclusively so this
cannot happen.

As a result, audio_get_buffer() doesn't exist anymore. Callers should call
core_alloc_maximum() directly. This buffer needs to be protected as usual
against movement if necessary (previously it was not protected at all which
cased the radioart crash), To get most of it they can adjust the willingness of
the talk engine to give its buffer away (at the expense of disabling voice
interface) with the new talk_buffer_set_policy() function.

d37bf24d90 Enable setting of global output samplerate on certain targets.
Replaces the NATIVE_FREQUENCY constant with a configurable frequency.

The user may select 48000Hz if the hardware supports it. The default is
still 44100Hz and the minimum is 44100Hz. The setting is located in the
playback settings, under "Frequency".

"Frequency" was duplicated in english.lang for now to avoid having to
fix every .lang file for the moment and throwing everything out of sync
because of the new play_frequency feature in features.txt. The next
cleanup should combine it with the one included for recording and
generalize the ID label.

If the hardware doesn't support 48000Hz, no setting will be available.

On particular hardware where very high rates are practical and desireable,
the upper bound can be extended by patching.

The PCM mixer can be configured to play at the full hardware frequency
range. The DSP core can configure to the hardware minimum up to the
maximum playback setting (some buffers must be reserved according to
the maximum rate).

If only 44100Hz is supported or possible on a given target for playback,
using the DSP and mixer at other samperates is possible if the hardware
offers them.

371c86bf3f Adapt OSD in plugin lib to be greylib compatible.
Requires addition of viewports and alternate framebuffers to greylib
which are essentially similar to the core implementation except that
the framebuffer can be any size and relationship to a viewport. Drawing
is always fully clipped to the intersecting area.

Adapt oscilloscope.c to the API change. FFT will use the new features
(later update).

Get rid of silly and wrong lcd_bmp_part use in OSD. Remove it from
plugin API (must be made incompatible now).

0f8aedbe94 Add a true waveform display to the oscilloscope plugin.
* Adds some additional niftyness like a floating popup display that
is implemented in an OSD library for use by other plugins.

* Speed changes are now gradual for both views and follow a curve
derived from some fiddling around to get a nice feel.

* Refined a few behavioral things overall.

It needs a bit of help from a direct PCM channel callback so it may
capture PCM for waveform display. Also need a few other core routines
to help out for the OSD.

Messes with some keymaps. Some targets need keymaps to access the
different views. Some devices can't support the additional view
because it requires a large buffer ( > 1 s) for samples.

If the plugin buffer is small, they can still use the popup display
since the plugin is also much smaller in that case.

Slow speed waveform needs some refining so it draws gradually like
a real oscilloscope but I'll stick with what it is, for the moment.

afc96087f8 New crossfeed algorithm for Rockbox: "Meier" crossfeed
Emulates the basic "Meier" crossfeed (2 capacitors, 3 resistors)
as discussed in
http://www.meier-audio.homepage.t-online.de/passivefilter.htm

This crossfeed blends a bit of low-pass filtered L signal into
the R signal (and vice versa) while adding about 300 us delay
to the crossfed-signal. A difference with the crossfeed already
present in rockbox, is that this algorithm keeps the total
spectrum flat (the one currently in rockbox accentuates
low-frequency signals, making it sound a bit muffled).

This implementation is quite lightweight, just 3 multiplies per
left-right pair of samples. Has a default C implementation and
optimized assembly versions for ARM and Coldfire.

The crossfeed effect is quite subtle and is noticeable mostly
one albums that have very strong left-right separation (e.g.
one instrument only on the left, another only on the right).

In the user interface, the new crossfeed option appears as
"Meier" and is not configureable. The existing crossfeed is
renamed to "Custom" as it allows itself to be customised.

There is no entry for the user manual yet.

c9bcbe202d Fundamentally rewrite much of the audio DSP.
Creates a standard buffer passing, local data passing and messaging
system for processing stages. Stages can be moved to their own source
files to reduce clutter and ease assimilation of new ones. dsp.c
becomes dsp_core.c which supports an engine and framework for effects.

Formats and change notifications are passed along with the buffer so
that they arrive at the correct time at each stage in the chain
regardless of the internal delays of a particular one.

Removes restrictions on the number of samples that can be processed at
a time and it pays attention to destination buffer size restrictions
without having to limit input count, which also allows pcmbuf to
remain fuller and safely set its own buffer limits as it sees fit.
There is no longer a need to query input/output counts given a certain
number of input samples; just give it the sizes of the source and
destination buffers.

Works in harmony with stages that are not deterministic in terms of
sample input/output ratio (like both resamplers but most notably
the timestretch). As a result it fixes quirks with timestretch hanging
up with certain settings and it now operates properly throughout its
full settings range.

286a4c5caa Revise the PCM callback system after adding multichannel audio.
Additional status callback is added to pcm_play/rec_data instead of
using a special function to set it. Status includes DMA error
reporting to the status callback. Playback and recording callback
become more alike except playback uses "const void **addr" (because
the data should not be altered) and recording uses "void **addr".
"const" is put in place throughout where appropriate.

Most changes are fairly trivial. One that should be checked in
particular because it isn't so much is telechips, if anyone cares to
bother. PP5002 is not so trivial either but that tested as working.

c1bd9b0361 Rework powermgmt to enable code re-use on appliation and sims.
* Introduce CONFIG_BATTERY_MEASURE define, to allow targets (application)
to break powermgmt.c's assumption about the ability to read battery voltage.
There's now additionally percentage (android) and remaining time measure
(maemo). No measure at all also works (sdl app). If voltage can't be measured,
then battery_level() is king and it'll be used for power_history and runtime
estimation.

* Implement target's API in the simulator, i.e. _battery_voltage(), so it
doesn't need to implement it's own powermgmt.c and other stubs. Now
the sim behaves much more like a native target, although it still
changes the simulated battery voltage quickly,

* Other changes include include renaming battery_adc_voltage() to
_battery_voltage(), for consistency with the new target functions and
making some of the apps code aware that voltage and runtime estimation
is not always available.

249bba03f1 Initial commit of the Samsung YP-R0 port.
This port is a hybrid native/RaaA port. It runs on a embedded linux system,
but is the only application. It therefore can implement lots of stuff that
native targets also implement, while leveraging the underlying linux kernel.

The port is quite advanced. User interface, audio playback, plugins work
mostly fine. Missing is e.g. power mangement and USB (see SamsungYPR0 wiki page).

Included in utils/ypr0tools are scripts and programs required to generate
a patched firmware. The patched firmware has the rootfs modified to load
Rockbox. It includes a early/safe USB mode.

This port needs a new toolchain, one that includes glibc headers and libraries.
rockboxdev.sh can generate it, but e.g. codesourcey and distro packages may
also work.

Most of the initial effort is done by Lorenzo Miori and others (on ABI),
including reverse engineering and patching of the original firmware,
initial drivers, and more. Big thanks to you.

42f10e04df Remove buflib from the pluginlib and use the core one.
buflib_get_data() isn't inlined for plugins anymore, but can be if really needed.

baa070cca6 GSoC/Buflib: Enable compaction in buflib.
This enables the ability to allocate (and free) memory dynamically
without fragmentation, through compaction. This means allocations can move
and fragmentation be reduced. Most changes are preparing Rockbox for this,
which many times means adding a move callback which can temporarily disable
movement when the corresponding code is in a critical section.

For now, the audio buffer allocation has a central role, because it's the one
having allocated most. This buffer is able to shrink itself, for which it
needs to stop playback for a very short moment. For this,
audio_buffer_available() returns the size of the audio buffer which can
possibly be used by other allocations because the audio buffer can shrink.

lastfm scrobbling and timestretch can now be toggled at runtime without
requiring a reboot.
