93572e2a9e Keyclick fixup take two. It is only 88 samples (2msec) long so keep a small static buffer around for beeps less than or equal to keyclick duration. This way it operates no matter the buffer state and still won't interfere with alternate PCM operations like recording or plugin playback.

826688e699 PCM buffer beeping needs the audio buffer reset in order to work after operations that trash the buffer or keyclick won't be audible until playback is restarted.

ddc2176b4d workaround for FS#8748 (possibly others) where playback might freeze or get confused if you try starting a new playlist when party mode is enabled. 
It now will ignore the setting if you try starting playback if there is nothing already playing.

01729e7a18 FS#9281 Rename of splash functions. 
* Remove gui_splash()
* Rename gui_syncsplash() to splashf() and remove its voice 
capabilities.
* Rename the internal splash() to splash_internal() and introduce an 
externally visible splash() that handles simple splashing  without 
printf functionality e.g. splash(HZ, ID2P(LANG_FOO)); or splash(HZ, 
"foo"); if a LANG_* id is passed it will be voiced.
* Adjust all places that called gui_syncsplash() to use the correct 
variant from above.
* Export both new functions to plugins and adjust places calling 
rb->splash() to use the correct variant so that we now have naming 
consistency between the core and plugins.
* Fix one latent bug that would cause my sim to crash with the above 
changes and correct P2STR and P2ID macros, thanks to pondlife.

d02c79c03f Commit viewports-in-WPS patch (FS#8385). This adds the %V tag - see the CustomWPS page for details (shortly...). There is still some work to do - decide how to handle font references, decide how to handle conditionals. Plus checkwps is broken - I'll fix that in a separate commit.

7fdfa56454 Add backdrop support for LCD remotes with depth > 1-bit. Only WPS backdrops, but the groundwork is laid for main backdrops too (all that's really needed are menus to set/clear them).

d2b305571e Check if a new version got installed after usb disconnect and ask if user wants to reboot. Causes disk spinup before showing the usb logo. Also fixes do_menu() not returning to root_menu after usb disconnect.

9f4bd8712f Cuesheet support by Jonathan Gordon and me (FS #6460). 
Everytime an audio file is loaded, a cue file with the same name is searched for. A setting 
allows to disable this (default is off). Cuesheet files can also be viewed in the file browser.

228d62dd18 Split the system status variables out of global_settings and put them into a new struct global_status. Use status_save() if these need 
saving.
Added car_adapter_mode to the nvram settings, so nvram settings will be reset.

735f453730 Added dircache support to playlist. Now playlist filename pointers are 
automatically accuired from dircache. WPS UI response with dircache
enabled should be instant.

ab78b04680 Implemented directory caching. No more waiting for disk to spin up while 
browsing when cache is enabled (system -> disk -> enable directory
cache). Cache building on boot is transparent except the first boot.

9e8918b086 Resume rework. With the new resume function, 'Ask' and 'Ask Once' are redundant options, since you can resume after any startup using the resume key. These have been stripped out, and the resume code has been streamlined. A small bug in button handler initialisation has been fixed.
