Make si4700 tuner driver more sane with bit and field defines and entirely hide strange i2c interface from code with write/set/clear/masked functionality. On Gigabeat S use by-the-book busmode selection and GPIO lines. Implement some primitive station detection, debug registers in screen, and misc. changes to tie things together.

Reclaim a bit of binsize on hdd based archoses by making the bit test unsigned. On SH1, gcc optimizes this by using a right shift, and a signed '1' made it use an arithmetic right-shift-by-n, which is a libgcc function on SH1. This was the only place in the core using it. No effect on other architectures.

Have drivers merged for WM8711/21/31 since they are so similar but respect all register differences between codecs. Change minis to #define the actual codec type. If anything breaks check if OSCPD and CLKOUTPD need to be clear for the target- H10 is fine. A nice naming convention suggestion for WM codec multidrivers would be welcome rather than naming for a specific chip.

Implement chasing bitswap for reading. Speeds up reading single 512-byte blocks by 15..20%. * Restructure the write buffer handling a bit, making it more readable and a bit smaller. Simplify & fix the MMC driver. After more than 3 years I found that the MMC specs were a bit misleading, and the 'large' MMC which state a block size of 1024 or 2048 bytes and no partial read and/or partial write capability are happily accepting a block size of 512 bytes. So go KISS and remove all the variable/partial block handling code. This fixes the driver for the Transcend 4GB MMCplus, which doesn't cope when we actually set the 2048 byte block size it states. It also makes write operations involving small blocks faster and more reliable. * Note: The 4GB Transcend still doesn't work when plugged at boot, but works when hotplugged.

FS#9051 - remove LCD margins... use viewports if you need them...
...
NOTE to WPS people....
%m has been removed, but (i think) because of the other %m tags it wont fail if you try loading a wps with %m|..|, it will just be ignored.
Also note that if the statusbar is enabled the default viewport is 8 pixels shorter than when its not, i.e (0,0) is really (0,8) if the statusbar is shown... I dont think this will be a major issue because almost no WPS show the bar and use bitmaps... text only WPS shouldnt be affected.
Please report problem screens in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17358.0

Plus various tcc77x work, including a working tick interrupt (enabled in the bootloader). Rockbox itself builds for the M200 (there are no keymaps yet for the DAX), but doesn't progress very far due to the lack of an ATA (NAND flash) driver.

Enable nocache sections using the linker. PP5022/4 must use SW_CORELOCK now with shared variables in DRAM (it seems swp(b) is at least partially broken on all PP or I'm doing something very wrong here :\). For core-shared data use SHAREDBSS/DATA_ATTR. NOCACHEBSS/DATA_ATTR is available whether or not single core is forced for static peripheral-DMA buffer allocation without use of the UNCACHED_ADDR macro in code and is likely useful on a non-PP target with a data cache (although not actually enabled in config.h and the .lds's in this commit).

Add a complete priority inheritance implementation to the scheduler (all mutex ownership and queue_send calls are inheritable). Priorities are differential so that dispatch depends on the runnable range of priorities. Codec priority can therefore be raised in small steps (pcmbuf updated to enable). Simplify the kernel functions to ease implementation and use the same kernel.c for both sim and target (I'm tired of maintaining two ;_). 1) Not sure if a minor audio break at first buffering issue will exist on large-sector disks (the main mutex speed issue was genuinely resolved earlier). At this point it's best dealt with at the buffering level. It seems a larger filechunk could be used again. 2) Perhaps 64-bit sims will have some minor issues (finicky) but a backroll of the code of concern there is a 5-minute job. All kernel objects become incompatible so a full rebuild and update is needed.

Do some crackdown on kernel object reinitialization after they could be in use and use before initialization. For c200/e200: Be sure fat cache and ata locks are acquired in the proper order during hot swapping. Delay hotswap monitoring until after initial file mounting (address 2nd kobj concern + possible call of fat driver before init).

Remove sector 0 write protection from the ATA and MMC drivers. The one in the ATA driver makes it impossible to change sector 0 from within rockbox USB mode, and nobody reported having seen that sector 0 panic for a loong time. Afaik it dates back to when ATA and filesystem write support were developed.

Commit FS#8379 by Andree Buschmann. Disables much of the remaining unneeded hardware on PP50xx targets (Ipods, Sansa, H10s, etc) resulting in a large savings in power and consequent increase in battery life. Results vary from target to target and from codec to codec, but we now approach the OF runtime on several PP devices. For now, leave base CPU clock at 30MHz, although further savings is possible with some codecs if clock is reduced. Additionally, fix battery capacity on c200 and use my measurements to improve runtime estimation for Sandisk targets.

Use the timeout API as a oneshot for headphone plug debouncing. Set at 1s for now which seems comfortable and was good for meg-fx but target-specific adjustment is easy enough (my 3G hp jack is dead so I can't check that one :( ). Do some minor rearrangements for init safety and consistency.
